Release Notes

Just a couple examples for the use of WMI eventing. Please follow the links supplied with each download for more information.

SCCM_InheritFolderPermission - v 0.2 - 30.05.2011

Sample file originally published by Kim Oppalfens. See Create "securable" Configuration Manager folders using WMI eventing of course. The basic idea is to create a "dummy item" in each folder with a defined set of permissions and the same name as the folder. If new objects are being created in that folder, the script will monitor this and apply the permissions from the dummy object to the new object. The script supplied in this download will register itself in WMI permanently. Removing the need to be logged on and run the script by hand. Please see Step-by-Step: Handling WMI Events permanently using VBScript for details about the implementation.
